Code-Division Multiple Access

The third and most important type of multiplexing technique is CDMA. CDMA, or spread spectrum technology, uses the entire bandwidth for every user such that a particular user is selected based on a code specific to that user. In CDMA systems, on many occasions the bandwidth made available to the user is several times the bandwidth needed for actual communication.
