CWDM Design Examples

When designing CWDM networks, we need to know the number of channels required in the network, the distance (node-to-node span distance and total circumference), and the fiber type. From an optical parametric design point, we need to know the power budget (that is, the transmitter power and the receiver sensitivity). In these examples, we do not consider the effects of noise or fiber nonlinearities and they are not necessary to include in CWDM system designs.
