Developing a Perimeter: An Invisible Shield to Clarify and Protect

SEALs identify strongly with the ancient Spartans and their honor code of brotherhood. The Spartans are celebrated for the Battle of Thermopylae against the Persians in 479 BC. Spartan warriors defended a narrow pass between the mountains of central Greece and the sea, a pass called Thermopylae. They were only 300 strong, with possibly 6,000 soldiers from across Greece in the rear for support. They were the tip of the spear that faced a Persian army thought to number 100,000.
