3.4 A BRIEF HISTORY OF FEM

Basic idea of FEM originated from analysis procedure used in framed structures like trusses, aircraft structural analysis and flow network analysis. For the origin and development of FEM, there are different perspectives from the viewpoint of a mathematician, a physicist and an engineer.
