Truth 7It’s a war for talent
Two competing recruiters are on safari and come upon the path of a lion. The lion spots them; the recruiters freeze. Then one of the recruiters slowly begins to pull high-performance running shoes out of her backpack and puts them on. The other recruiter says, "You gotta be crazy; you can’t outrun that lion." Her response: "Oh, I don’t have to outrun the lion; I only have to outrun you."
In the war for talent, we are competing against each other for the best and the brightest. Even though we put all our energies into trying to chase down the best candidates for our open positions, we have to remember that a big part of the competition is outrunning other employers. It is, simply put, a jungle out there.
