WHY SOUND MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Sound is one of the most important aspects of a film, but for many filmmakers, sound seems to be the last thing that is considered during production. This is especially true when you’re working with small crews, tight budgets, and hectic schedules. We are naturally drawn to the composition and lighting, but after countless experiences (good and bad), I’ve learned these three golden rules:
- Sound can make or break your film.
- The less money you have for your film, the more you need an experienced sound person on location, especially if you are shooting dialogue scenes or if ambient sounds are essential to the piece.
