Film versus Video Production

When comparing the relative costs of shooting on film with shooting on tape, there are many factors to be taken into account. Neither course is invariably less expensive than the other; indeed, cost is only one aspect of the decision to be made.

Choices between the various film formats are discussed later in this book. The tape choices lie between the smaller, more portable formats such as DVCPRO or Digibeta, and the higher quality but less portable 24P HD camera (digital camera).
