Sunny 16 Rule

ON A SUNNY DAY, SET YOUR CAMERA APERTURE TO F/16 AND YOUR SHUTTER SPEED TO THE RECIPROCAL OF THE ISO FILM SPEED.

Let’s say you have 400-speed film in your camera. There’s a person in the sun over there and you want to shoot them – but you have no light meter!
