Over the action line, draw the simplified skeleton of the figure. Make sure you establish the gesture in your skeleton. Don’t worry about being exactly accurate. The two things you are looking to accomplish at this stage are capturing the figure’s gestures and defining the general proportions of the figure (see Figure 2.25).
