Summary
In this chapter, we covered some advanced indexing topics. You learned a little about what happens behind the scenes during the indexing process. We covered performance tuning for both indexing and searching in some detail, and we explained the Ferret index locking mechanism, briefly touching on some concurrency issues. By this stage, you are probably chomping at the bit to find out how to search the indexes youâve been building. We will cover that in Chapter 4.
