An enterprise architecture is a tool to support decision making, and in this chapter, we examine some of the decision-making contexts in which an EA can be used. Because most decision making affects some type of enterprise transformation, explicit or otherwise, we begin by reviewing the various dimensions of enterprise change. We then present approaches and examples of using EA in selected areas, including investment management and capital planning, organizational change, transition planning, and security.
