How do your customers see your Web site? This is one of the most fundamental questions in doing business on the Internet, and it’s one that most companies can’t answer. You know how you see the site and how other people on the design team see it, but what about people outside your company? You may even know how people use your site or what they say about it, but you have no clue about how they actually look at it. This book aims to answer that question.

Of course, no book can answer questions specifically about your Web site. For that, you need to conduct your own usability studies. But there is a lot of commonality in the way customers look at Web sites and how that impacts what they do on sites. That’s something we can write a book about. ...
