In the next chapter, we address issues related to networking, such as getting connected to the Internet and using networking services. We show you how to add software to your system in Chapter 5, and to update it when security fixes and other improvements are released.

Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 have the information that makes you truly productive. There we introduce applications that people use in their everyday work lives, including Mozilla web browser, Email and personal information management, Word Processing, and the use of Instant Messaging. As you progress into those chapters, you will find that the basics learned in this chapter make a difference in your effectiveness.
