As a hiring manager, I have interviewed hundreds of testers and hired dozens.

Interviewing and hiring testers is always an interesting challenge. The work a tester does is not tangible. Certainly, you can read a tester’s bug reports or test scripts. However, neither artifact tells you much about how well the tester will perform at actual testing. The difference between adequate testers and stellar testers rests in their approach to analyzing and investigating software and systems.
