The Möbius Strip

This chapter is one big experiment: to create twisted strips (any number of half twists), cut them in half, thirds, fourths, … and describe the results. The most well-known twisted strip is a Möbius strip, which is introduced in this book here for the first time. Twisted strips continue the theme, begun in Chapter 6, of introducing new surfaces. The result of cutting a twisted strip is new twisted strips, variously described as linked, knotted, with each new strip having a number of edges, twists, and sides.
