5.6. Summary

Fact table ETL involves several central (but simple) aspects, such as dimension key lookups and measure calculations. Beyond these two common components, many fact table processes require changing source data grain, which adds a layer of difficulty. And in more rare occasions, unique dimension processing requirements (such as inferred members and late-arriving facts) are more complex and require more planning, development, and testing. But in all, SSIS provides the tools to meet your fact table ETL requirements successfully.

As an extension to this chapter and Chapter 4, Chapter 6 focuses on SSAS integration, mainly processing SSAS dimensions and cube partitions.
