Resource Management
If resources were unlimited, there would be no need to manage them. We see this in all aspects of our daily lives. If your car were the only car on the road, traffic signals would not be necessary. If you were the only customer at the bank, there would be no need for the winding ropes that form orderly lines. But, as we all know, this is rarely the case, which is the same for database servers.
