Subversion (SVN)

Subversion (abbreviated SVN, after the command name svn) is a free and open source software versioning and revision control system, distributed under Apache License.

Subversion is used to manage current and historical versions of files and directories such as source code, web pages, and documentation. It also allows you to recover older versions of files and the history of the changed data. You can use different components after you install Subversion; components are tools and programs such as svn, svnversion, svnlook, svnadmin, svnsync, and a few others.
