This second edition has given me the opportunity to revise and extend my original interview in the light of subsequent developments. Four years have elapsed since I first spoke to Shirley Read about the project of the Digital Gallery at London South Bank University and more than eight years since the gallery was proposed. These are not inconsiderable periods set against the fast pace of technological change.
