The Microsoft Exchange Architecture

Before you can start the processes of developing your collaborative solutions, it is always a good idea to familiarize yourself with the architecture and functionality of your underlying messaging platform, which is, in our case, Microsoft Exchange. Because we spent a great deal of time summarizing the functionality that Exchange provides to the collaborative process in Chapter 3, "Overview of Collaborative Tools and Techniques," the only thing that is required is to define the architecture of Exchange.
