Appendix B. Handling Common Errors in CDO

For a variety of reasons, errors occur all the time when working within Outlook, but in most cases, Outlook deals with them and does not abort. This is because the programmers who wrote Microsoft Outlook knew what types of errors were likely to occur and planned for them. This appendix will help you do the same when you are working with CDO in your programs. Being prepared for errors involves two key elements, both of which are discussed in this appendix: catching the errors when they happen and knowing what error is likely to occur in what situation. When both are taken care of, your program can trap and properly handle the errors that are almost guaranteed to arise.
