Working with Office Web Apps

An Office Web App allows you to work with an Office document stored on a SkyDrive (New!) or SharePoint site in a web browser and on different mobile devices—such as Windows Phones, Apple iOS (iPhones, and iPads), BlackBerry, and Android. Office Web Apps provide a web-based version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote (New!). For a SharePoint site, Access and Lync are also available. You can view or edit Office documents in a web browser using a Web App or in the Desktop App. An Office Web App provides a subset of the features in the desktop version. However, in some Web Apps, such as Excel, it adds options, such as the ability to create an online survey (New!).
