Using Web Functions

With Excel, you can retrieve data from a web service directly into a worksheet. The web functions include: ENCODEURL, WEBSERVICE, and FILTERXML. ENCODEURL (New!) is a function that allows you to retrieve an URL-encoded string. It takes out all illegal characters in a URL and changes them to a % equivalent. WEBSERVICE (New!) is a function that allows you to retrieve XML data from a web service that doesn’t require user name and password authentication, such as a Twitter feed or RSS feed. The WEBSERVICE function doesn’t support all protocols, such as ftp:// or file://.
