Accessing Element Formatting Tools

In Chapter 1, “Introducing Charts in Excel 2013,” you learned how to create a chart using the Insert tab. You also learned how to choose built-in chart styles and colors from the Paintbrush icon to the right of the chart.

For many people, using one of the new built-in styles is sufficient. You can live with those defaults and never have to tweak the settings for any chart element.
