Synopsis

Use ISTEXT to look at the specified reference and return a logical value of TRUE if the cell contains text; otherwise, the function returns a value of FALSE.

=ISTEXT(Value)

Example

Figure 20-3 illustrates the use of ISTEXT to make sure the value in a cell is text and not a number, error value, or logical value. If the cell contains anything other than text the function returns a value of FALSE.
