Synopsis

Use TRANSPOSE to transpose the values in a vertical range of cells into a horizontal range or vice versa. This function must be used as an array function and the range of cells selected for the function must match the specified array. For example, if the specified array is a column of five cells the function must be placed in a row of five cells.

To Calculate

=TRANSPOSE(Array)

The Array argument is required for this function.

Example

Figure 16-14 illustrates how TRANSPOSE is used to take the values of a column and transpose them into a row of the same length. Keep in mind that you need to make sure you select a row that has the same number of cells as the range of cells in the column you want to transpose. Also, remember you need to use Ctrl+Shift+Enter to paste the function into the selected cells.
