STANDARDIZE

Synopsis

Use STANDARDIZE to find a standardized value for a distribution where you know the mean and standard deviation Z-score.

To Calculate

=STANDARDIZE(X, Mean, Standard_Dev)

All three of the arguments are required for this function.

X

Indicates the value that you want to normalize.

Mean

Indicates a numeric value that expresses the arithmetic mean for the distribution.

Standard_Dev

Indicates a number greater than zero that specifies the standard deviation for the distribution.

Example

Figure 15-43 illustrates how to use STANDARDIZE to find the standardized value for a distribution when you know the initial value, mean, and standard deviation for a distribution.
