Name

SLOPE

Synopsis

Use SLOPE to determine the slope of a linear regression line that is closest to the specified data points. The function calculates the slope by dividing the vertical distance by the horizontal distance between two points on the line.

To Calculate

=SLOPE(Known_Y's, Known_X's)

Both arguments are required for this function.

Example

Figure 15-40 illustrates how SLOPE is used to find the slope of a linear regression line through the specified data points.
