FTEST

Synopsis

Use FTEST to compare the values in two arrays and return the result of an F-test. The result indicates whether the variances in the two arrays are significant.

To Calculate

=FTEST(Array1, Array2)

Both arguments are required for this function.

Example

Figure 15-17 uses FTEST to compare two arrays and determine the variance between the arrays if their variances are equal. In this example, there is no reason to suppose that the variances are different, since the P-value of 0.821202 is so large.
