Name

FISHER

Synopsis

Use FISHER to determine the Fisher transformation at the specified value. This function is used when you want to perform hypothesis testing of the correlation coefficient.

To Calculate

=FISHER(X)

The X argument is required for this function.

X

Indicates a numeric value between -1 and 1 that you want to use for the transformation. (The value cannot be -1 or 1).

Example

Figure 15-14 illustrates how to use FISHER to find the Fisher transformation for a numeric value between -1 and 1. You will notice that FISHERINV returns the value that was initially used to get the transformation.
