Name

COS

Synopsis

Use COS to determine the cosine of an angle expressed in radians. In order to use this function the size of the angle must be in radians. You can convert degrees to radians by multiplying by π/180.

To Calculate

=COS(Number)
Number

This required argument must specify the radian measurement of the angle for which you want to determine the cosine.

Example

Figure 14-2 illustrates how COS is used to determine the cosine for an angle as long as you know the radian value. For this example, we used RADIANS to determine the radian measurement for a 50-degree angle.
