The File and Storage Solutions domain includes just one objective, but it’s a big one: Implement Dynamic Access Control.
Access permissions for files have traditionally been controlled by a combination of share permissions and NTFS permissions. Dynamic Access Control (DAC) is a set of features new to Windows Server 2012 that adds to these two access controls an optional third security gate for file access. DAC controls access in a way that is dependent not on group memberships or file locations, but instead on object attributes cited in access rules. The advantage of DAC is that it can provide highly customized and simplified management of file security, especially in a large organization.
