Application Practice      Assignments that ask learners to respond in ways they would respond on the job. Contrast with recall practice.

 

Architecture     See Instructional Architecture.

 

Asynchronous e-learning     Computer learning environments in which individual learners study independently at their own pace usually in a self-study mode.

 

Attention     The allocation of limited working memory capacity to specific internal or external information.

 

Automaticity     Any task that is hardwired into long-term memory can be performed without using working memory resources. Automaticity is built through repetition.

 

Behavioral Engagement     Overt activity in the service of learning.
