Using Email

When you first set up an account in Windows 8 you’ll be offered the chance to log in with your Windows Live ID. If you don’t have one, it’s worth setting one up as discussed in Chapter 13.

This chapter starts with a look at what a basic email system looks like using Hotmail as the browser. It then goes on to show how to set up one or more of your email accounts on your device. In doing so, you will be able to click on your email icon and open up your email without going first to the browser and typing it in. If you are using Outlook on Exchange for instance, the benefit of having your email set up on the device, rather than accessing it through a browser is significant.
