Chapter . Why Evaluate?

While most organizations recognize the need and value of evaluating performance interventions, few undertake anything but basic training intervention evaluations. Yet various types of performance interventions exist: some concentrate on training, others on the work environment, still others address process-improvement interventions.

Due in part to the number of performance interventions, an industry-wide standard exists for performance intervention classifications or categories. Following are descriptions for the four main categories of performance interventions:
