The authors are especially grateful to Academic Impressions for bringing us together in order to host a three-day conference called “Evaluating Online Teaching” in Phoenix, Arizona, between July 31 and August 3, 2013. In preparing for the conference, this book's three authors compared their areas of expertise against the existing scholarship about evaluating online teaching and discovered an opportunity to help to establish standards and best practices. Toward that end, this book presents practical guidelines for developing programs, measurement instruments, and campus policies for evaluating online teaching.
