The conclusions we offer in this book bring us largely full circle, as the SCARF loop model predicts. We began by asking what is special or different about teaching online. Reassuringly, the differences appear in the methods used by online teachers. By becoming more familiar with best practices in online teaching, evaluators can map specific practices back to the teaching behaviors that all good instructional situations have in common. Using the existing models provided in the companion website (www.wiley.com/go/tobin) for this book, readers can use the following six-step process in order to build a campus program for evaluating online teaching.
