Beyond Evaluation as We Know It
Evaluation will evolve and advance. The very technologies that enable elearning have made new techniques of evaluation practical and made old ones more economical. Newer technologies, such as medical advances that allow real-time monitoring of brain processes, will open the door to more comprehensive and meaningful forms of evaluation.
As the techniques of evaluation improve, the goal of evaluation will grow beyond that of predicting or measuring the results of learning down to the last penny, euro, or centavo. Evaluation will spur innovation and competition by showing us which approaches, theories, techniques, and technologies work best. Evaluation will become an integral part of creative design.
