Identify Business Goals Behind Training

You probably write learning objectives for your training courses. Ask yourself about the business goals these learning objectives support (figure 12-1). For example, suppose you have a learning objective that requires sales representatives to be able to answer at least half of a customer’s questions on the spot without having to consult external materials. Why have you set such an objective? Perhaps it is to support the business goal of closing more sales on the first contact with a customer.
