Who Can Provide the Data?

To gather meaningful data, ask those who should know. These are the people in positions to accurately comment on the effectiveness of learning. Those who should know may include the following:

  • trainees[*]

[*] Be aware that evaluations by the trainee, the trainee’s supervisor, or the trainer/facilitator may tend to overstate effectiveness as all have a stake in positive results.

  • trainers/facilitators[*]

  • supervisors or managers of trainees[*]

  • subordinates of trainees

  • peers of trainees

  • senior managers and executives over trainees

  • customers of your company who interact with trainees

  • subject matter experts.
