When to Use a Quality Checklist

As mentioned earlier, evaluation can have many meanings and be performed in a variety of ways. One of those ways is to use an observational checklist to prompt you to examine specific characteristics of an existing e-learning course. This exercise can help you judge whether the course will meet your needs.

This chapter presents such a checklist. It is short and simple. Though it cannot guarantee that a highly rated course will succeed and a lowly rated one will fail, it can guide you to look more closely at the course and how well it fits your learning goals, your learners, your organization’s training strategy, and the subject matter you need to teach.
