Fortunately, techniques for measuring and observing job performance are well established and highly refined. The electronic environment of e-learning automates and streamlines this process.

Observe Behavior on the Job

To measure on-the-job performance, observe attempts to apply learning to realistic situations. Provide a checklist for scoring the learner’s behavior in a simulated or real application of learning. For example, a sales training course might include a list for scoring a sales interview (figure 5-1).
