Breadth of View

At what scope do you want to evaluate e-learning? Are you interested in rating an individual course or in assessing the long-term effects of e-learning on society in general? Evaluations can range along a scale from microscopic to macroscopic perspectives (figure 2-1).

In the micro view, you are concerned with concrete results in accomplishing-specific learning objectives. In the macro view, you are concerned with a broad range of results in accomplishing organizational and political goals.
