How To Prevent Data Loss

The best prevention is to always remember to backup your data!

Accidents may happen: you spill coffee on your CD or Zip drive, or a CD falls on the floor where it gets scratched, or the hard drive suddenly won't spin after being unused for two humid summer months. Anything may happen, but you should not worry if your most valuable data is stored separately in a safe place. Figure 10-2 shows how Windows NT managers protect the data from unexpected surprises. Apparently, most of them still rely on a traditional backup procedure.
