Personal Video Recorder
TiVo is the Personal Video Recorder (PVR) or Digital Video Recorder (DVR) that can perform simultaneous recording and playback of a TV signal. TiVo allows the user to “pause” a live TV program, rewind, fast/slow forward, and store hours of TV programs without the use of a VCR. The most impressive features are the ability to skip commercials and to record and playback at the same time. A similar technology is offered by ReplayTV.
