A Network-only OS: Netware
It's hard to know where in this book NetWare should go. It is an OS, but it is a network-only one; it runs on servers but not on desktops. One of the many fruits of the excellent computer science program at Brigham Young University, Netware appeared in 1983. It was the first local area network server software for IBM PCs and clones that was engineered from the ground up for network services rather than as a network extension to DOS.
