About the Author
Mark D. Birnbaum holds a BSEE from Princeton University and an MSEE from Northeastern University. He held senior positions in engineering design, consulting, technology partnerships, and technical marketing with both commercial and aerospace firms.
In addition, he managed engineering, research and software groups at many large and small companies, including National Semiconductor Corp., Fujitsu Microelectronics, Inc., and Cadence Design Systems. Along the way, he led two standards groups, wrote two books, and developed and taught several microelectronics and EDA classes.
