An extended hierarchy of companies forms the electronic products food chain of suppliers. The manufacturing of silicon chips is one part of this hierarchy.

Figure F.1 shows an overview of this hierarchy (on the left) and how EDA supports it (on the right).

Product Design

Referring to Figure F.1, we see that end-user electronic products are made by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
