Introduction

EDA and semiconductor technology jargon is a confusing mixture of English and metric terms and measures. The reader is likely to run into many of these terms and dimensions. Therefore, we provide three quick reference tables to help with unfamiliar names and sizes.

Table D.1 provides a list of common number terms. Two columns show the terms for large and small numbers in long and short (exponent) forms. Two other columns give the English and metric terms, where they exist.

Table D.2 lists the names of time-related numbers. The example column gives some examples so the reader can gain a sense of relative size to familiar things.
