Personal Web Server

Personal Web Server is the version of IIS that is available for the nonserver versions of Windows, such as Windows NT Workstation or even Windows 98. Although a lot of the more sophisticated options are not available, it's basically the same Web server, which means that you can set up just about any recent version of Windows as a development server.

In fact, a lot of the scripts in this book were written on a laptop running Windows 95. Later, it was easy to move them to computers running Windows NT Server and Windows 2000.
